Kostas Kastanas - Actor

Kostas Kastanas studied theatre in Greek National Theatre's school of drama. In this same school he taught thereafter for twelve years.

As an actor he had the honor to play leading parts in performance of playrights as: Shakespeare, Chechov, Hibsen, Strindberg, Moliere, Camus, Kazantzakis and others in his many year collaboration with the Greek National Theatre, Minotis - Paxinou company and many other companies sometimes even personal.

He has humbly contributed for the revival of Ancient Greek Drama with his interpretations of major parts in 12 ancient tragedies and two comedies of Aristophanes.

Great moments in his carrer the coexisting on stage with legends of Greek theatre as: Katina Paxinou, Alexis Minotis, Elli Lambeti, Dimitris Horn and others who either with their theatrical presence or their personal friendship he thinks that have influenced him positively and greatly.

Appearances in films, TV productions, his particular relation with readings of Greek texts of artistic or generally literary context, his participation in experimental stages, his stage directing proposals, his appereances either as an actor or drama teacher in Greece or abroad, come to fulfill a course of many decades...
