Radio Days
Kostas Kastanas is one of the actors of Greek radio days that were fully rewarded with the love of the audiences. Greek Radio Broadcasting offered him great parts in theatre programs and participations to programs that were adored by the people.
In the successful "Radio Library" he read books of great Greek writers and he was the reader at "Foreign visitors to Greece" and "Ships and the Sea" a program written and presented by the famous Greek writer and member of The Academy of Athens Elias Venezis. At the third program he recited French and English poetry inToulaTolia’s original Greek translations in her Poetry program. Lautreamon, Yeats, Rimbaud etc.
In "Monday’s Theater" a mostly loved popular program, he played first parts in many classical and modern plays specially arranged and directed for the radio theatre by the best Greek directors. Major Greek Playwrights as Kazantzakis, Sicelianos, Kampanellis, Ziogas and Shakespeare, Chechov, Hibsen, O’Neal and a lot of contemporary others, were in his repertory and there at the Third program of Manos Hadjidakis he directed and played Hamlet of Shakespeare with original music specially written from the Greek composer Kiriakos Sfetsas, performed by the Symphony orchestra of Greek Radio.
At the blooming of free radio stations in his own program at 902 FM was master-of-ceremonies on his own program, conducting
interviews with persons of significance in culture and art.

For many years now, most advertising companies used his voice as a prestigious weapon to present several of their finest products with clarity, persuasion, humor, and pleasant hearing of the language, elements that Kostas Kastanas with his voice colors and acting skills and experience could provide them.
